Lucia, here! I was once asked a very interesting question, “If you could identify yourself with something, what would it be?” That had never crossed my mind before and it took me about three days to come up with an answer — I even asked my mom for her opinion. It’s fascinating to see the responses you get when you ask others how they would identify you. It usually ends up being something completely different from what you expect. It’s a very fun exercise, maybe you could give it a shot! Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below, I’d be curious to hear your replies.
At first, I thought of the mayfly, which is a species of butterfly that only lives for a day. I liked the idea that they must know how to treasure the present moment more since they live such “short” lives. This is similar to the saying “live each day as if it was your last”, which is, in the mayflies’ case, actually their last!
However, I’m not particularly fond of insects, so choosing a mayfly wouldn’t have been the best answer. But then, the famous Roman proverb “It’s better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand days as a sheep” came to mind. I realised, that’s exactly the kind of life I aspire to live! I want to enjoy life, make the best out of it and live with no regrets — I picked lion!
This relates perfectly with what I am doing at the moment. I currently live between Paris and London and recently took the plunge into following my passion for food blogging. It dawned on me that if I don’t do it now, I’ll never get the opportunity to do it.
I am French, with Japanese and Cambodian origins. After completing high school in France, I decided to pursue my bachelor’s in Japan and in the US. From there, I moved to the UK, where I earned my Master’s in International Public Policy.
It’s no secret that I’ve always loved exploring new places, discovering coffee shops and meeting new people. So, it made sense to me to start a blog where I could share my favorite places, stories of people I encountered and lessons learned along the way.
Being an avid fan of TEDx, one of the talks taught me that following our passion is not necessarily as rewarding as creating values.
Since I feel very strongly about community building, sharing experiences and growing together, everything fell into place when Ordoo came into the picture. Ordoo offers great locations, along with access to their delicious menus, on an easy to navigate map. Not only does it make searches easier, but also offers suggestions to explore new places. This app has made blogging more exciting, I couldn’t be happier using it!
Ultimately, I will say that I am a dream chaser. You’ll most likely find me in a coffee shop, sitting by a window with my precious latte, doing my favorite activity: daydreaming. So if you do see me, don’t be shy and please come say hi!
